Alfons Walde’s autumnal motifs are primarily concerned with the autochthonous landscape and the rural architecture embedded in it. The colors of the buildings seem to be reflected in the play of colors of the surrounding nature. A strong contrast with a haunting play of light and shadow characterize the majority of these works.
