Alfons Walde Portrait<\/h3>\n

Alfons Walde, born in Oberndorf (suburb of Kitzb\u00fchel), Austria, on February 8 1981;\u00a0<\/span> died on December 11th 1958 in Kitzb\u00fchel, was an Austrian painter and architect.<\/span><\/h4>\n

<\/span><\/h4>\n

Influenced by Secessionism, he created still lifes, landscapes and scenes from rural life. Alfons Walde became internationally known primarily through the posters he created between 1920 and 1938 with winter landscapes and winter sports motifs. His pictures shaped Tyrol as a winter sports country.<\/h4>\n

The Kunstverlag Alfons Walde is working on an expansion of the catalog raisonn\u00e9 of \u201cAlfons Walde,\u201d which was published in 2026. This work will result in a further publication. The plan is to publish a second volume that will present newly added works in color (oil, tempera, watercolor, and mixed media on cardboard, canvas, and paper) as well as, primarily, the artist\u2019s graphic works (drawings in pencil, ink, and charcoal).<\/h4>\n

The indispensable reference work for all connoisseurs and lovers of his works, edited by Gert Ammann and Michael Walde-Berger, has just been published by Kunstverlag Alfons Walde.<\/p>\n

This monograph by Gert Ammann, featuring 171 color plates and 4,164 illustrations, the majority of them in color, includes for the first time a catalogue of 4,053 of Walde\u2019s works executed in color. <\/span>All texts are in German and English<\/p>\n

Contributions by Olivia Hromatka on Walde\u2019s efforts as an architect, Carl Kraus on Alfons Walde during the National Socialist period, Rebekka Reuter on his photography, Stefan \u00dcner on his nude painting, and Michael Walde-Berger on perspectives from within the artist\u2019s family collectively provide a comprehensive picture of Alfons Walde\u2019s life and work.<\/span><\/p>\n
